No one could better capture the timeless elegance of a woman than Richard Avedon. His minimalist style always placed the focus on his subjects. The Gagosian Gallery in LA is displaying his works in an exhibit entitled Avedon: Women starting today, Novemeber 1st. Be sure to check it out if you’re on the West coast.
HEM’s next jacket is not just for the office! Longer, slimmer cut looks incredible w jeans for a more casual look.

Leopard printed on fabric, leather, and accessories is a top trend this fall. Leopard first came into style when Christian Dior included it in his collections in the 1940’s and has been reappearing on runways ever since. It is flattering on nearly every complexion and is timeless yet daring. For the office, I find accessories like shoes, bags, and belts to be the easiest way to incorporate leopard into your wardrobe. I love the Loeffler Randall cheetah pumps you can find at Barney’s or Saks and the leopard calf skin belt at Banana Republic. Wear with black and camel for a particularly gorgeous, classic look.

Pleated skirts are a great way to transition from summer to fall. I love the mid-length shown here. The pleats look sharp and stylish for the office with a crisp button down or a tailored blazer. They can also double for a night out with strappy heels, tank, and clutch. Comfortable, fun, and polished. J.Crew and Zara have their own chic versions and for less than $200! Go get yours!

As evidenced by these fashion week stunners, tailored jackets are no longer just for the office. Whether worn over the shoulder or with popped lapel, the classic black blazer is on trend when mixed with casual, modern pieces. So don’t just reserve your jackets for the boardroom - wear them on the weekends or out on the town. Let them reflect your own personal style in all facets of your life. Pair them with a tee or denim for fall and with florals and pastels for spring. Versatile, easy, and always stylish.
